Vorkuta Objectives – Domination & Hardpoint Strategy Discussion
Been playing a lot of objective modes lately on Vorkuta—specifically Domination bo6 bot lobbiesand Hardpoint—and I’m starting to think this is one of the most underrated competitive maps in the game. It’s not as chaotic as some of the smaller maps, but there’s a tactical rhythm to it that I think people are sleeping on.
For Domination, the B flag is a nightmare (in a good way). It’s positioned just between the lower Coalyard and the corner of the Warehouse, meaning it’s visible from multiple angles—especially from above in the Hub or through windows in the Warehouse. Holding B requires excellent team coordination and control of high ground. If you can dominate the Warehouse third floor and post someone watching the flank from Wreckage, you can almost lock it down.
That said, solo capping B is suicide unless your team is distracting the enemy. I started running Trophy System and smoke grenades for just this reason. It makes a huge difference when pushing up. Don’t forget to check the left minecart path—people love to flank through there and hit your backline.
As for Hardpoint, the rotation order is what makes the map really interesting. The first point is usually in the Coalyard (open but balanced), and then it rotates to more interior positions like the Warehouse or even the narrow pathway near the Wreckage. These areas offer totally different combat styles—long-range to tight corners—so it forces you to build flexible loadouts.
Pro tip: If you’re playing Hardpoint with a team, always send someone early to the next rotation. Vorkuta punishes late rotates, especially if you have to cross the open Hub during a blizzard. I also recommend loadouts with the Lightweight perk or movement-focused builds because the distance between hills can leave slower players in the dust.
Anyone else noticing Vorkuta plays totally differently depending on the mode? It’s one of the few maps where I actually prefer playing objectives over TDM. Would love to hear some tips from anyone running league play or competitive customs on it.
