I have experience with NFC verification through Trust Swiftly — we implemented it in a fintech project six months ago. And I must say: it was a rare case when everything worked better than expected. I'll start with the main thing: NFC identity verification really reduces the time for onboarding a new client. Instead of the user taking a photo of a document from both sides, then taking a selfie, and waiting for confirmation — he simply puts the ID card to his smartphone (of course, if the phone supports NFC) and after a few seconds the system extracts all the necessary information from the chip: full name, date of birth, photo, document number, etc. Trust Swiftly itself validates this data, compares it with the selfie (optional) and makes a decision or sends it for manual verification. This is convenient for both us and the user. Before the implementation of NFC, verification took an average of 3-4 hours (because operators checked manually, and often refused due to a blurry photo or incorrectly entered data). Now it takes 5 minutes maximum. And in 70% of cases — even faster. And most importantly — the accuracy is higher, because the data from the chip is not distorted, it is official. As for compatibility — it is important here. It works on Android devices with NFC support (starting somewhere with Android 7+). The situation with the iPhone is a little worse — Apple opened full access to the chip only for its own applications, so it does not work on iOS through a browser. But Trust Swiftly understands this, and for such cases there is a fallback to classic photo verification.

It was interesting to read about your experience. I had heard about NFC verification, but I didn't think it was so accessible. I was especially surprised that it gives accurate data directly from the ID chip — it's really powerful. Thanks for the information, I'll take note!
