MLB The Show 25's Absence on PC: A Disappointing Trend Continues

As a long-time fan of the MLB The Show series, I was hopeful that the upcoming MLB The Show 25 would finally make its way to the PC platform. However, recent announcements have mlb 25 stubsdashed these hopes, confirming that the game will not be available on PC. This marks another year where PC gamers are left out of experiencing what has become the premier baseball simulation game.

Historically, the MLB The Show series has been exclusive to PlayStation consoles, with later releases expanding to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The last-gen versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were the final nods to previous-generation consoles. Yet, the PC platform has consistently been overlooked. While some may argue that this exclusivity strategy benefits console sales, it alienates a significant portion of the gaming community that prefers or relies on PC gaming.

In the past, there was a workaround for PC gamers through Xbox Game Pass, which allowed streaming of MLB The Show 24 on PC. However, this option will not be available for MLB The Show 25, as Sony has confirmed that the game will not be included in any subscription services this year. This decision further limits access for those without the latest consoles.

The exclusion of PC support raises questions about the industry's commitment to inclusivity and recognizing the diverse preferences of gamers. With the technological advancements in PC gaming, it's disheartening to see major titles continue to overlook this platform. As fans, we can only hope that future installments of the MLB The Show series will reconsider their stance and embrace the broader gaming community by offering PC support.
